The International Section

This bilingual section officially recognised by France and subject to an authorisation published by the French Ministry for Education. It is characterised by a strong emphasis on the teaching of English language and culture on top of a D.N.L. (i.e. History-Geography) as early as Year 7. This section leads to the D.N.B.I exam (Diplôme National du Brevet mention Internationale) and can be continued in Years 11 to Sixth Form through the International Option of the Baccalauréat (O.I.B.).

The opening of an International Section was requested by the Lycée for the start of the 2013 school year. The Year 8 International Section class then opened in 2014. This section enrols pupils from the bilingual sections of our primary schools but can also enrol other pupils looking to substantially enhance their skills in English. However, given the high number of hours taught in English in this section, the addition of a second modern language is deferred to Year 9 (in 4e).
